Updates

Keep a package installation current and choose whether to receive pre-release versions.

Which installations can update?

If you are on an older version, download and install a 0.2.1 or later package once, when available, from the download page or GitHub Releases. Use the package matching your distribution. After that upgrade, use Updates inside Noullama.

A source build or standalone executable can show the newest version, but you must update it by hand. Follow Build from source if you maintain your own build.

Install and restart

  1. Open Updates in the sidebar. It shows your installed version and checks GitHub for a newer release.
  2. When a release is available, the sidebar entry changes to Update to followed by the version.
  3. Choose Install and restart. Noullama downloads the package matching your install type and verifies its signature.
  4. Authorize installation through the system password prompt. Noullama then unloads the model, stops the local API and restarts.

Plan for the local API to be unavailable during the restart.

Check at startup

Enable Check when noullama starts to check once a few seconds after launch. Checking does not download or install anything. A download starts only when you choose Install and restart.

Include pre-releases

Enable Include pre-releases to receive pre-release versions as well as regular releases. This setting starts enabled when your installed version is itself a pre-release.

If you are using a pre-release package that predates 0.2.1, the same manual upgrade requirement applies: first install a 0.2.1 or later package. The updater is determined by the installed version and package type.
